Pakistan Monday said there was no understanding with the United States regarding operation of its troops inside Pakistan.
"No such understanding with the U.S. exists," said Pakistani Foreign Ministry spokesperson Tasnim Aslam Monday while answering a question at a weekly news briefing here.
She dismissed media reports, which suggested such understanding exists, as "speculative and fabricated."
Aslam said the parameters of Pakistan's cooperation with the U. S.and NATO are clear to everyone, "including the NATO forces across the border and the U.S. Administration."
The spokesperson said these parameters of cooperation are limited to intelligence sharing and coordination.
"Any operation to be conducted inside Pakistani territory based on actionable intelligence is our responsibility," she said, " Similarly, operations on the other side of the border are responsibility of NATO and Afghan forces."
