Special parliamentary teams will tour all five regions of Nepal next week to monitor the security situation in the run up to the Constituent Assembly (CA) election, reported local media house's website ekantipur.com Monday.

A meeting of the Constituent Assembly Monitoring Parliamentary Special Committee chaired by Speaker Subash Nemwang on Monday decided to send the five separate teams of lawmakers to the regions.

In the course of the monitoring, the special parliamentary teams will consult the local administrators, security and election officials on the security situation.

Speaker Nemwang said that the parliamentary committee will give advice to the government based on the information furnished by the special teams.

Law and order, especially in the Terai region, remains the main challenge to the Nov. 22 elections.

A number of armed groups in the southern Terai belt have threatened to thwart the crucial polls to elect an assembly to promulgate a new constitution, said the report.
