Japanese and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK)'s bilateral working group under the framework of the six-party talks will hold their second meeting in early Sept. in the Mongolian capital of Ulan Bator, Kyodo News reported on Tuesday.
The Japanese delegation will be led by normalization talks representative Yoshiki Mine, while the DPRK side will be represented by normalization talks ambassador Song Il Ho, according to the Japanese Foreign Ministry.
Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe expressed his expectation on Tuesday to see an earnest stance of the DPRK side at the upcoming meeting.
The two sides failed to reach an agreement during their first such meeting in Hanoi in March due to split on the issue of the DPRK's past abductions of Japanese nationals, which Japan regards as the "major sticking point" in the talks.
