U.S. aircraft carrier Kitty Hawk has arrived in Malaysia for a five-day visit, local reports said on Tuesday.

The oldest aircraft carrier in the U.S. navy docked at Port Klang, Selangor State, on Monday and it came to Malaysia to join the celebrations of Malaysia's 50th independence anniversary on Friday, Malaysia's national news agency Bernama said.

The conventionally powered carrier has been commissioned since 1961 and it would be replaced by the USS George Washington next year, Bernama said.
