Algerian Prime Minister Abdelaziz Belkhadem said Tuesday that his country will continue fighting against terrorism.
Speaking during a press conference, the minister said Algerian security forces neutralized 36 suspected terrorists last July, killing 15 of them and arrested 19, while others surrendered.
Moreover, 22 terrorist hide-outs were destroyed during this period, and 36 bombs and mines were diffused, while 15 weapons were recovered, he said.
Terrorism was rampant in Algeria in the 1990s, causing the deaths of 150,000 people and massive destruction of property. Security situation in the country has improved significantly in recent years, despite sporadic terrorist acts in certain regions.
