The energy summit, planned to take place in Vilnius in October, was the main subject discussed by Polish and Lithuanian presidents Lech Kaczynski and Valdas Adamkus at the Polish president's summer residence in Jurata in the Hel peninsula on Tuesday, Tomasz Brzezinski of the Polish Presidential Chancellery press office told PAP news agency.

The summit is planned as a continuation of the May meeting of the presidents of Poland, Lithuania, Azerbaijan and Georgia and a Kazakh official in Cracow, southern Poland.

Adamkus arrived in Poland for a two-day working visit on Monday afternoon. The two presidents discussed on Monday energy security, including the construction of a power bridge between Poland and Lithuania and joint construction of a nuclear power station in Ignalina, Lithuania.

Discussed were also bilateral relations and the opening of a Polish university branch in Vilnius as of Oct. 1, 2007.
