Angry mob attacked police posts and burnt dozens of vehicles in Indian Taj Mahal city of Agra Wednesday after four Muslims were run over and killed by a truck, the Indo Asian News Agency (IANS) reported.

Police fired teargas and used batons to break up the mob that blocked a key highway to the city.

Violence erupted around dawn when Muslims, returning from prayers, found four men belonging to their faith were killed by a truck.

Some of them hurled bricks at police and burned down the truck and a dozen other vehicles.

Authorities have imposed a curfew in areas around the Taj Mahal, the IANS reported.
