Moscow hopes that the interested sides deliver humanitarian aid to Palestine as soon as possible, the Russian Foreign Ministry said on Wednesday.
"We hope that all interested sides will help us deliver humanitarian cargoes to the Gaza Strip as soon as possible," the Itar-Tass news agency quoted the ministry as saying.
"Moscow believes that the Palestinian population should not become hostages of a dangerous situation inside and around the Palestinian Authority. The major duty of the international community is to assist Palestinians in surviving the current difficulties, to prevent the collapse of the social and economic situation, to avoid the humanitarian catastrophe and facilitate the restoration of Palestinian accord," the ministry reported.
Earlier in the day, aircraft of Russia's Emergencies Ministry carrying humanitarian aid to residents of the Gaza Strip arrived in Jordan, spokeswoman Natalya Lukash said.
