Two U.S. soldiers were killed and another injured in two attacks in Iraq, the U.S. military said on Thursday.
A soldier was killed and another injured during combat operations in western Baghdad on Thursday, a military statement said.
An earlier statement said that a second soldier was killed on Wednesday by a roadside bomb explosion near his vehicle in the volatile province of Diyala, northeast of the capital.
The names of the soldiers are being withheld pending notification of next of kin, the statements said.
The latest deaths bring the number of U.S. soldiers who have been killed in Iraq to about 3,735 since the Iraq war broke out in 2003, according to media count based on Pentagon figures.
