Head of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Mohamed Elbaradei said on Thursday in a inner report, referred to the board of governors, that Tehran made " significant step forward" in explaining open issues in its nuclear program.
The report said that Iran, with obviously position changing on its nuclear issues, cooperated with the inspectors of IAEA to settle the pending problems in its nuclear program.
The report pointed out that the agreement on an action plan, achieved by Tehran and the IAEA on Aug. 21 was "a significant step forward."
At the same time, the report confirmed that Iran did not suspend its uranium enrichment activities in term of the resolution of the United Nations Security Council, and its uranium enrichment program in Natanz was slower than expected.
The secretariat of the IAEA on Monday upon the request of Tehran released an understanding about the action plan, achieved by Iran and the IAEA, in which Iran promised to further improve cooperation with the agency.
According to the local media, quoting a senior IAEA official, the Agency expected Iran to fully carry out its commitments, adding that "the key is that Iran ... provides the information that we need" in a time frame.
The delegates of the United States, Britain, France and Germany expressed their worry about the Iranian nuclear program in the meeting with ElBaradei on Wednesday.
The western diplomats said solving the problems in Iranian nuclear program could not replace suspending of its uranium enrichment activities.
The Iranian nuclear issue would also be on the agenda of the upcoming conference of the IAEA board of governors and its General Conference on Sept. 10-21.
