Foreign Minister of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) Pak Ui Chun on Friday met a U.S. delegation that arrived with emergency medical aid for flood victims, official media reported.

A report carried by the Korean Central News Agency gave no further details about the meeting.

At least 600 people died and 100,000 more were left homeless by floods that hit most parts of the DPRK as a result of heavy rainfall earlier this month.

The U.S. government has said it would provide the DPRK with 100,000 U.S. dollars in emergency aid.
