Bulgaria supports the new round of Kosovo status talks and would offer help for its smooth going, Bulgaria's Foreign Minister Ivailo Kalfin said here on Friday when meeting with his Serbian counterpart Vuk Jeremic.
In a joint statement after the meeting, Kalfin said Bulgaria insists all resolutions concerning Kosovo be made on the basis of relevant international laws and United Nations resolutions.
He called the resumption of the talks a big success, ascribing it to the constructive efforts by the Serbian government.
Legally still part of the Serbian Republic, Kosovo has been run by the United Nations since mid-1999 as a protectorate. Kosovo's future status has been a bitter subject between Belgrade and Kosovo's Albanian majority who are pushing for independence.
