Israeli aircraft have raided on abandoned rocket launchers in northern Gaza Strip town of Beit Hanoun at noon on Sunday, witnesses said.
The witnesses added that two helicopters fired two missiles at the launchers that Palestinian militants used earlier on the day to shell southern Israel.
The raid caused no casualties. Since the early morning, residents said helicopters and reconnaissance planes have been hovering over the security fence between Gaza and the Jewish state.
Al-Quds Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic jihad (Holy War), meanwhile, claimed responsibility for firing two home-made rockets into Sderot city in Israel.
"This shelling is part of the natural responses to the Israeli aggressions on our people," the brigades said in a statement emailed to the press.
Israeli sources said two missiles have landed on Western Negev and caused no damage or casualty.
The Popular Resistance Committees (PRC) and Fatah's military wing also said they have targeted Karni commercial crossing in eastern Gaza city with three mortar shells in pre-dawn raid.
