A serial bomb explosions in Nepali capital Kathmandu on Sunday afternoon could be a conspiracy to thwart the Constituent Assembly election, According to local newspaper The Kathmandu Post on Monday.
In a statement issued by Nepali home ministry said, the ministry stated that prima-facie "the incidents could have been carried out as a serious conspiracy to disrupt the upcoming Constituent Assembly elections."
Three bomb explosions at about the same time, one inside a microbus and the others at downtown of Kathmandu killed two persons and injured at least 25 others.
"A serious investigation is underway against the planners of the attack", the statement said, adding that the Nepali government has "deployed security personnel with a high alert inside the Kathmandu Valley and other sensitive places in the country."
The ministry has also informed that the local administrations have already been directed to make proper arrangements for the treatment of the injured people.
Two persons were killed and 26 others were seriously injured, according to the ministry.
