The Indonesian Immigration Office has arrested three Malaysians for violating immigration permits and other papers, an official said Tuesday.
"The three Malaysians used their tourist visas to work in a company in Bogor," Bogor Immigration Office head Ibrahim Saleh was quoted by the national Antara news agency as saying.
The three were identified as The Choong Eng (53), Yap Yuen Loy (43), and Tee Kok Khing (31).
Ibrahim said the three had been put in custody since Friday when they were about to extend their temporary visa in the West Java town of Bogor, just south of Jakarta.
Foreigners working in Indonesia should have working visa from the Immigration Office and working permit issued by the Manpower Ministry. They also had to pay income tax, said Ibrahim.
He added that the Bogor Immigration office had been processing the dossiers of the three Malaysians for prosecution.
