Russia has condemned rocket attacks against Israeli territory and called on both Palestinians and Israelis to show restraint.
"Of particular concern is the fact that such strikes are targeted against civilians and civilian facilities. There is no argument in support of such actions that can be accepted as well-founded," the Russian Foreign Ministry's first deputy spokesman, Boris Malakhov, was quoted by the Itar-Tass news agency as saying Tuesday.
"Once again we urge all parties to display restraint and common sense and refrain from yielding to provocations by those who would like to ruin any chance of a political Palestinian-Israeli settlement," he said.
A Qassam rocket was fired by Palestinians from northern Gaza Strip and hit a house in southern Israeli town of Sderot on Thursday morning, but no one was injured in the attack, Israeli media reported.
Statistics from the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) showed that nearly 300 Qassam rockets and mortar shells were fired at southern Israeli communities from Gaza during the past month.
