U.S. President George W. Bush arrived Tuesday night for a visit to Australia and to attend the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APE) leaders meeting to be held later this week.
The president's stay in Sydney will be joined by a 700-strong entourage including U.S. Administration officials, Secret Service agents, bodyguards, close friends and media.
He will meet Australian Prime Minister John Howard on Wednesday and have lunch with Australian troops.
Bush, who arrived here after a visit to Iraq, will also meet Australian Opposition Leader Kevin Rudd on Thursday and discuss Australia's involvement in the war in Iraq, according to local media reports.
He will leave for home on Saturday to attend the Sept. 11, 2001 terror attack commemorations.
