Former U.S. President Bill Clinton started a two-week nationwide tour to promote his second book "Giving: How Each of Us Can Change the World" which went on sale on Tuesday.
He will be signing "Giving" at Barnes & Noble bookstore in New York on Tuesday afternoon and also give excerpt reading before the readers.
Clinton will also discuss the book with David Letterman on CBS's The Late Show on Tuesday and on CNN's Larry King Live on Wednesday.
Between Sept. 7 and Sept. 18, he will visit four U.S. cities, namely, Chicago, Arlington, Austin, and Pasadena, to promote his book which talks about the power of charity.
"I've done my best in this book to demonstrate what I've seen firsthand through my foundation's work in Africa and around the world," Clinton said in a statement.
Looking at the charitable work of individuals and nongovernmental organizations "has proven to me that almost everyone -- regardless of income, available time, age and skills -- can do something useful for others and, in the process, strengthen the fabric of our shared humanity," he said.
Clinton, who served two terms as U.S. president, has been devoted to building up his charitable Clinton Foundation, which focuses on anti-AIDS and anti-global warming efforts.
"GIVING" went on sale on Sept. 4, with a first printing of 750, 000 copies, said Knopf, a division of Random House.
Clinton plans to donate the proceeds of the book to charities and nonprofit organizations, Knopf Publishing Group said.
Clinton's first book, "My Life," which was published in 2004, has sold more than 2 million copies in the United States.
He is said to have been paid 10 million to 12 million dollars to write the autobiography.
