Peru has received 15,000 tons of humanitarian aid and 32 million U.S. dollars in donations following the Aug. 15 earthquake, Foreign Minister Jose Garcia Belaunde said on Tuesday.
Garcia Belaunde said that Peru is expecting pledges worth a total of 89 million dollars from other nations and international bodies in coming days.
He said that national governments like Germany, regional governments like Catalonia and Andalucia of Spain, and overseas non-governmental organizations like Britain's Care-Peru had contributed.
He also thanked Colombian President Alvaro Uribe and Bolivian President Evo Morales for visiting Pisco, one of the regions worst hit by the 7.9-magnitude earthquake last month which killed 520 people, injured over 1,300 and left 80,000 homeless.
