Wang Zhaoguo, a senior Chinese legislator met Wednesday in Beijing with Hidayat Nur Wahid, chairman of the People's Consultative Assembly of Indonesia (MPR).
Wang, who is vice-chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC), China's top legislative body, told Hidayat that China attaches great importance to developing the strategic partnership between China and Indonesia.
He hailed the continuous development of bilateral relations in recent years, citing frequent high-level visits, deepened mutual political trust and continuous development of exchanges and cooperation in various fields.
"China appreciates Indonesia's adherence to the one-China policy and hopes that the Indonesian friends will continue to support China's peaceful reunification cause," said Wang.
Hidayat said that the MPR will continue to devote itself to promoting the development of Indonesia-China strategic partnership.
He stressed that Indonesia will continue to follow the one-China policy.
Hidayat arrived in China on Monday for a visit at the invitation of Jia Qinglin, China's top political advisor.
