Four American soldiers were killed and four others injured in two attacks across Iraq on Wednesday, the U.S. military said on Thursday.

Two soldiers died of wounds sustained from an explosion near their vehicle while conducting operations in Salahudin province in north of Baghdad, the military said in a statement.

Three other soldiers were wounded by the blast and transported to an army medical facility for treatment, it added.

In a separate incident, two soldiers were killed and another wounded during combat operations in eastern the capital, the U.S. military said.

On Wednesday, the military announced the killing of four more soldiers in Baghdad on Tuesday, including three killed in a single attack.

The soldiers' names are being withheld pending notification of relatives, the statements said.

The latest deaths bring the number of U.S. soldiers been killed in Iraq to about 3,750 since the Iraq war broke out in March 2003, according to media count based on Pentagon figures.
