The Nepal-China Chamber of Commerce and Industry organized a seminar to explore further possibilities for bilateral commercial ties in Nepali capital Kathmandu on Friday afternoon.
Among those attending the seminar were around 80 Nepali businessmen and scholars, as well as Chinese businessmen and representatives from Chinese companies operating in Nepal.
The seminar focused on the potentialities of enhancing the bilateral trade and investment level.
Professor Bishwambher Pyakuryal from the Central Department of Economics of Nepal's Tribhuvan University said, "It is an opportunity to pursue economic ties with China who has sustained over the last 25 years the highest economic growth rate that has ever been achieved by any major economy. Nepal should learn from China to manage and utilize country's own resources and also the way China has successfully maintained the stability in inflation and growth rate."
He said, "The combination of Chinese capital and technology with Nepal's untapped resources can no doubt benefit both countries enormously."
During the seminar, the businessmen and scholars paid much attention to looking for the possibilities for Chinese companies, cooperating with the Nepali side, to explore the abundant hydropower resources in Nepal.
