The death toll in a car bomb in eastern Algeria rose to 17 and at least 30 others wounded, Algerian state news agency APS reported on Saturday.
The report said that the explosion took place in the Mediterranean port town of Dellys, 100 km east of Algiers.
The initial report, quoted the local medic sources, said that some 10 people were killed in the blast.
This is the second bombing in three days. On Thursday, a suicide bombing attack in eastern Algeria killed about 19 people and wounded 107 others.
The attack took place at the town of Batna, some 450 km east of the capital of Algiers, apparently targeting President Abdelaziz Bouteflika who had planned to visit the region.
Although security has greatly improved in Algeria in recent years, sporadic attacks continue to be reported in isolated parts of the northwestern African country.
