Unidentified gunmen attacked two military vehicles in northern Pakistan's mountainous region of Kohistan on Saturday, killing two soldiers and injuring two others, TV channels reported.
The army convoy were heading north on the Karakoram Highway when they came under attack at Shateyal area, some 15 km from Dasu, a major town in Kohistan.
Assailants fled from the scent after the attack, reports said.
No group claimed responsibility for the attack.
The security forces cordoned off the area after the attack, which caused traffic jam on the highway.
Attacks on security forces have increased in Pakistan's northwest frontier since July when a military operation stormed Islamabad's hard-line Red Mosque and armed tribals in Waziristan region scrapped a peace deal with the government.
