Road accidents related to election kill three, injure 29 in Guatemala

Three people were killed and 29 others injured Sunday in two separate road accidents related to the presidential election in Guatemala, National Civilian Police told media.

A pick-up truck with three people aboard, which was on its way to a polling station, fell into a ravine near the village of Pacren in Chiquimilpa department, killing one and injuring three others.

A bus carrying 31 voters crashed in Jalapa department, killing wo people and injuring 26 others, five of them seriously.

Guatemalans voted Sunday to choose the country's next president, 158 deputies of the National Congress and 332 mayors.
