Sacked Hamas administration criticized President Mahmoud Abbas and Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert meeting on Monday, terming it as "obscure."

"These frequent meetings can't be understood and would be fruitless and have no meaning especially with Olmert's regular threats to invade Gaza," Ahmed Yousef, political advisor of Hamas Prime Minister Ismail Haneya, told reporters.

"These discussions are meant to weaken Hamas and the Palestinian resistance and only benefit the Israeli side," added Yousef, whose movement took control of Gaza Strip by force in June after routing pro-Abbas forces.

Abbas and Olmert meeting started in Jerusalem at noon on Monday. Ahead of the meeting, Abbas' political advisor, Nemer Hammad, said the Palestinian National Authority (PNA) was looking for a clear agreement, controlled by timetables and the final status issues such as refugees, borders or Jerusalem.

Ramallah-based Al-Ayyam Daily also reported Monday that Abbas would ask Olmert to start drafting "a detailed framework for agreement in order to be presented before the expected international conference in the United States in November."
