Three Islamic Jihad (Holy War) militants escaped on Thursday afternoon an Israeli air-raid at the car they drove in northern Gaza not far from the borders with Israel, a Jihad member and witnesses said.
The witnesses said they saw a car had suddenly stopped, and three people running from inside it, adding that after two minutes, one Israeli air-to-ground rocket struck the car. No injuries were reported.
Abu Hamza, spokesman of Jihad's armed wing al-Quds Brigades, told reporters that three of his group's members survived the Israeli airstrike as an Israeli missile hit their empty car.
Abu Hamza vowed to continue rocket attacks at Israel regardless of the Israeli threats to crack down on militants.
The group had claimed reasonability on Tuesday for a rocket attack on an Israeli army base in southern Israel, which left around 69 Israel soldiers injured.
It was the most serious incident in terms of casualty number resulting from a single Qassam rocket attack.
Following the attack, some Israeli officials called for tough retaliation against militant groups' rocket attacks launched from the Gaza enclave.
