Unknown gunmen kidnapped a Bangladeshi citizen in Logar province of eastern Afghanistan, the police said Sunday.
One Bengalese, who was working for an agency providing small financial support for locals, was abducted in Puli Alam district on Saturday afternoon, Qudratullah Azizi, criminal department chief of Logar police, told Xinhua.
No one has claimed responsibility, but a search operation by the police was ongoing, Azizi said.
Two gunmen killed one Bengalese, who was also working for the agency, in Badakhshan province of northeastern Afghanistan on Wednesday afternoon.
Meanwhile, a remote-controlled bombing seriously injured Abdul Rahim Basiwal, chief of Andar district in the central Ghazni province, on Saturday afternoon, the police said Sunday.
His guards and 12 civilians were also injured in the explosion, which occurred at a bazaar.
The Taliban has claimed responsibility for the attack.
Due to rising Taliban violence, over 4,500 people, most of whom were Taliban militants, have been killed in Afghanistan since the beginning of this year.
