Israeli soldiers gunned down a Palestinian teenager in the West Bank city of Ramallah on Monday when they were clashing with the local militants on their way into the town, Palestinian medics said.
They said that Mohammed Jabareen, 16, was hit by a gunshot in the waist and passed away after being left bleeding for about one hour.
The ambulance workers could not reach him until the Israeli forces withdrew from the city.
However, the Israeli army radio said the deceased was a gunman who was shot by the soldiers after they spotted him during their operation in Ramallah.
The Israeli army storms West Bank cities and villages almost every night in search for Palestinian militants wanted by Israel.
Last night, the army had arrested 13 people from the cities of Ramallah, Hebron and Qalqilya, Israeli sources said.
