A delegation of 35 South Korean officials arrived in Pyongyang on Tuesday to arrange details of next month's summit between the two countries' leaders.
The delegation, led by South Korean Vice Unification Minister Lee Kwan-se, arrived at the Koryo hotel in Pyongyang at 12:49 local time (0349 GMT).
The delegation is expected to inspect the venue for the inter-Korean summit and arrange details of the itinerary and accommodations for the summit, the South Korean news agency Yonhap said.
South Korean President Roh Moo-hyun and his counterpart of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) Kim Jong Il are scheduled to meet on Oct. 2-4 in Pyongyang, the second-ever summit between the two countries.
"We will hold prior inspections thoroughly to ensure that the summit proceeds smoothly," delegation chief Lee Kwan-se told reporters before heading for Pyongyang.
The team is to return on Friday.
Last month, the DPRK suspended the summit, citing devastating floods that have killed some 600 people and destroyed large areas of farmland.
