Bomb attacks killed three people and wounded seven others in eastern and southern Baghdad on Tuesday, a well-informed police source said.
"A car bomb parked near an intersection in the Zayouna neighborhood in eastern Baghdad, detonated in the morning, killing two civilians and wounding five others," the source told Xinhua on condition of anonymity.
The Iraqi security forces cordoned off the area to secure the scene, while ambulances transported the victims to a nearby hospital, the source said.
Separately, a roadside bomb went off near a police patrol in Baghdad's southern neighborhood of Za'faraniyah, killing a pedestrian and injuring two more, the source said.
Violence continues infesting Baghdad's streets despite the U.S. army's surge in the war-torn country in a bid to rein in the unbridled insurgency.
