Armed wings of the Islamic Jihad (Holy War) and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine ( PFLP) claimed responsibility for killing an Israeli soldier and wounding two others in the West Bank city Nablus on Tuesday morning.
A spokesman for Saraya al-Quds, Islamic Jihad's armed wing, said a group of his fighters along with PFLP militants have blown up a hidden bomb near Israeli soldiers, who were storming a house near al-Ein refugee camp in the west of Nablus.
Sources said one soldier was killed and two others were injured in the explosion. Yet the Israeli military has not confirmed the killing incident so far.
Israel stormed Nablus early in the day and focused the operation in the camp, arresting suspected Palestinian fighters.
Mohammad Khaled, a 17-year-old PFLP member, was shot dead during exchanges of fire with invading Israeli troops in the refugee camp, witnesses said.
