A four-day SAARC (South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation) youth camp, the first rally of youths of South Asia under the auspices of the regional forum, will be held in Bangladesh towards the end of November.

The "First SAARC Youth Camp-2007" will be held in Savar, 30 km north of capital Dhaka, an official announcement was quoted by private news agency UNB as saying Tuesday.

A total of 150 youths from eight SAARC countries, in the age group 16-22, will join the camp. Of them, 80 participants are from the host country Bangladesh and 10 each from other seven countries.

A "National Steering Committee" and an "Organizing Committee" under the country's Youth and Sports Ministry have been formed to make the youth gathering a success.

The meeting also discussed the budget for the camp, its financing and security, selection of the host participants and other related factors, including function of the sub-committees.

The decision of holding the "SAARC Youth Camp-2007" was taken at the 14th SAARC Summit held in New Delhi this year. The proposal for holding the Camp was approved at the technical committee related to SAARC Youth Women and Children.
