Nepal and South Korea Wednesday signed an agreement for the establishment of the Government Integrated Data Center (GIDC) and Training Center in Nepal.
According to local media reports, South Korean Ambassador to Nepal Nam Sang-Jung and Joint Secretary at Foreign Aid Coordination Division of Finance Ministry of Nepal Krishna Gyawali signed the Memorandum of Understanding for the Project worth 3.5 million U.S. dollars on Wednesday.
The project will support to build infrastructure of e- Government by establishing the GIDC in Chief Secretariate Singha Durbar will be implemented through the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA)
KOICA will also provide equipment and materials necessary for the operation of IDC and IT Training, and support the capacity building in the ICT field of Nepal through training programs.
"This project would contribute to laying the foundation for e- Government in Nepal", Ambassador Nam said. "The resulting benefits for e-Government will be enhanced transparency, better services to citizens, administrative cost reductions."
