Indian police have rounded up 24 people in connection with two attacks happened on Tuesday night in the Indian south Karnataka state, according to the Hindu newspaper Thursday.
Unknown assailants attacked the home of Selvi, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi's daughter, on Tuesday night, and a mob later burnt down a Tamil Nadu State Express Transport Corporation bus, killing two passengers.
Police Commissioner Neelam Achuta Rao of Karnataka's capital Bangalore, where the two attacks occurred, said was too early to conclude whether the two incidents were related.
Description of attackers given by the security guard at Selvi's home and by the bus driver did not match, he said.
However, the possibility of two groups from the same organization carrying out the attacks could not be ruled out, he added.
He said there was no clue to conclude that Hindu activists angry over Karunanidhi's remarks questioning the historical existence of one of their most important gods were involved in the attack.
