Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung will visit France from Sept. 30 to Oct. 3 to "reinforce the friendship and mutual trust" between the two countries, a local spokesman announced Thursday.
The trip will also aim at seeking measures to boost bilateral cooperation on economy, trade, investment, technology transfer, official development assistance, culture and tourism, Foreign Affairs spokesman Le Dung said at a regular press briefing.
The Vietnamese prime minister will hold talks with his French counterpart Francois Fillon and meet with some French parliamentarians to strengthen bilateral ties in line with the principles of traditional friendship, comprehensive and long-term cooperation and trust in the 21st century already set by leaders of the two countries.
Vietnam will hold Vietnamese culture days in France, and some businessmen of the two countries will meet each other, the spokesman said, noting that national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines is likely to further discuss about aircraft purchase.
According to the latest statistics from the Vietnamese Ministry of Planning and Investment, France is now the ninth biggest foreign investor in Vietnam with a total of 187 valid projects with combined capital of over 2.38 billion U.S. dollars.
