Indonesia, China's Hong Kong to sign deal on asset recovery |

Indonesia and China's Hong Kong would sign the Mutual Legal Agreement (MLA) on asset recovery in November, top officials of the Indonesian Attorney General Office said on Monday in Jakarta.
The agreement aimed at returning assets which have been corrupted by people who have escaped to Hong Kong or Indonesia, the officials said.
They said that the move would include extradition of the corrupt people.
Deputy Attorney General Office Muchtar Arifin said all process for the MLA with China's Hong Kong has been completed. The signing would be carried out in Bali of Indonesia.
He said Indonesia also approached the United States and others countries for such kind of agreement.
Indonesia, which has severely suffered from seismic corruption, has actively attempted to recover billions U.S. dollars worth of stolen assets being stashed in bank accounts in overseas by corrupt people.
