The Islamic Resistance Movement ( Hamas) slammed on Tuesday a decision of Israeli Bank Hapoalim to disconnect all banking ties and arrangements with the banks in Gaza Strip.

Israeli Radio had earlier reported that Bank Hapoalim in Israel made the decision on the light of last week Israeli cabinet's decision which considered the Gaza Strip a hostile entity.

The Israeli cabinet's decision was "retaliation to the ongoing homemade rockets attacks" against Israel. Israel threatened that it would cutoff electricity and fuels if rocket attacks continue.

Fawzi Barhoum, Hamas spokesman in Gaza, told reporters that " the Israeli Bank's decision has nothing to do with rockets attacks on Israel. It is part of a general plan agreed between Israel and the United States."

"The decision assures that the collective punishment against our people has nothing to do with firing rockets at Israel. It is a programmed plan implemented on the Palestinians to force them to kneel," said Barhoum.

In Gaza Strip, there are several banks, the biggest local one is the Bank of Palestine, and the international one called the Arab Bank, in addition to another four local banks. There are no European or American banks in Gaza.
