Israeli gunships hit a rocket' launcher in northern Gaza Strip early on Wednesday, wounding at least one Palestinian child, witnesses and medics said.
The witnesses said that several militants, members of Saraya al- Quds, the Islamic Jihad (Holy War) movement's armed wing, arrived at the town of Beit Hanoun in northern Gaza to fire homemade rockets at Israel.
Right after the militants erected the launcher, Israeli helicopter demolished it by one missile, they added.
Medics said that a 10-year-old Palestinian boy was lightly wounded in his foot by the missile shrapnel.
The Islamic Jihad armed wing said in a leaflet that four of its members survived after an Israeli helicopter targeted them by one air-to-ground missile, adding that only one child was injured in the attack.
The group claimed responsibility for firing six homemade rockets from northern Gaza at the Israeli town of Sderot.
Moreover, the group, the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) and the Popular Resistance Committees armed wings said in three separate leaflets sent to the press that their militants attacked by mortar shells Kerem Shalom crossing.
Kerem Shalom crossing is on the borders between southern Gaza Strip, Egypt and Israel.
On Tuesday, Israel said that Kerem Shalom will be the only crossing to allow products and humanitarian aids into the Hamas- ruled Gaza Strip.
