A spokesman for the Popular Resistance Committees (PRC) armed wing on Wednesday accused President Mahmoud Abbas' security forces in the West Bank for hindering bold attacks against Israel.
Abu Abeer told reporters that "the Palestinian National Authority (PNA) security apparatuses in the West Bank are preventing bold armed attacks planned to be carried out against Israeli targets in and around the West Bank."
Earlier in the day, a senior Palestinian security official in the West Bank City of Bethlehem revealed that the Palestinian security forces discovered two homemade rockets in the town of Beit Jala directed at Israel.
Brig. Abu Yousef el-Haddar, commander of Bethlehem security forces, told reporters that the Palestinian security forces discovered two rockets in an area between Ayda Refugee camp and Beit Jala.
"Each rocket is one and a half meter, and written on each rocket (Allaho Akbra) God is great," said el-Haddar, adding that a suitcase of explosives and two bottles full of burning chemical liquid materials were found near the rockets.
Since Hamas militants forcibly took control of the Gaza Strip in mid June, the Palestinian security forces in the West Bank have been following up militants who planed attacks on Israel from the West Bank.
The Israeli army is also carrying out raids on towns and villages in the West Bank and detaining suspects planning bombing attacks against Israel.
