A senior United Nations official in Kosovo said on Wednesday that he was being investigated by an internal UN office for his close ties to Kosovo ethnic Albanian officials, and women.
Steven Shook, deputy chief of the UN mission in Kosovo, said that he was investigated by the UN oversight office over allegations of his close relationship with former Kosovo Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj and other officials.
Haradinaj, who is on trial at the Hague tribunal, was forced to resign in March 2005 for his role as rebel leader during the 1998- 1999 Kosovo war, in which he had allegedly committed war crimes ranging from rape to murder.
He is also being accused of having "personal relationships with women in the mission," news reaching here from Pristina reported.
"I think I am guilty of loving my job, of being extremely passionate about I do, and of doing it to the best of my ability," he said.
