Top negotiator of the Republic of Korea (ROK) Chun Yung-woo said all the parties involved in the six-party talks share the aspiration of reaching an agreement, which would help them overcome current difficulties.
Chun told reporters upon returning to his hotel in downtown Beijing Thursday evening that the ROK had already had bilateral meetings respectively with China, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and the United States in the afternoon.
Difficulties still remain for the concerned parties to reach consensus on the denuclearization and declaration (of nuclear program) on the Korean Peninsula, Chun said, adding that the ROK would continue to play a constructive role to help relevant parties to reach agreement.
According to Chun, heads of the six delegations would meet at 9 a. m. Friday.
The six-party talks aimed at resolving the nuclear issue on the Korean Peninsula involve China, the DPRK, the United States, the Republic of Korea (ROK), Russia and Japan.
