U.S. President George W. Bush will host German Chancellor Angela Merkel at his ranch in Crawford, Texas on November 9-10, White House spokeswoman Dana Perino said in a statement on Thursday.

Bush looks forward to continuing his close consultations with Merkel on shared goals such as advancing agenda of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), promoting stability and reconstruction in Afghanistan, striking Israeli-Palestinian peace efforts, ending the violence in Darfur, and combating international terrorism, the statement said.

Moreover, the two leaders will discuss Iran's nuclear issue, the future status of Kosovo, the Lebanon issue, promoting transatlantic ties as well as global free trade, the statement said.

Merkel has been a close ally of the United States, and bilateral ties have been improved substantially since Merkel took office.
