A convicted Indonesian terrorist is making his final struggle to avoid the death sentence by requesting a presidential pardon after the Supreme Court turned down his appeal.
Muslim militant Amrozi was sentenced to death along with two fellow militants for the October 2002 bombings that killed 202 people on Bali island.
"Amrozi is currently taking legal efforts to get the presidential pardon. If this stage is passed (with the pardon denied), we can carry out the execution," Attorney General Hendarman Supandji told reporters here.
Earlier this month, the Supreme Court also turned down appeal by Amrozi's older brother Ali Ghufron and Imam Samudera on the similar case.
It remains unclear if the two inmates in death row are seeking the presidential pardon, the last effort to avoid the judicial killing.
