The Cairo-based Arab League on Friday warned that the continuation of Israeli practices in the Palestinian territories will lead to further deterioration of the conditions there.

AL Palestinian department voiced the warning in a statement issued to mark the seventh anniversary of al-Aqsa Intifada ( uprising) in 2000, Egypt's official news agency MENA reported.

In the statement, the pan-Arab bloc warned that the continuation of such practices of the Jewish state in the Palestinian territories will lead to further deterioration of the humanitarian, social, economic and political conditions.

It called on the international community to help persuade Israel to put an end to its violations against Palestinians, including killing, suppression, Judaisation and settlement activities in the occupied territories.

Only the national unity of the Palestinian people can help them restore their rights and establish a Palestinian state, stressed the statement.

The social and economic conditions of the Palestinian territories have been deteriorating since the outbreak of the 2000 Intifada.

The Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS) said in a statement that the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of the Palestinian territories shrank in 2006 to 4.107 billion U.S. dollars, down 3.6 percent, and the per capita income dropped by 23 percent.

Israel has tightened measures to isolate the Palestinians by confiscating their lands and building separation wall, the statement denounced.
