China is an example for many countries in implementing development policies, said Romanian President Traian Basescu on Friday.
Basescu said this in the Chinese Embassy in Romania, at the reception given by Ambassador Xu Jian on the 58th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China on Oct. 1.
"Such a large nation, to which one should be able to give and plan such a positive development, is an example even for the nations that are infinitely smaller than China in point of the ways in which development policies can be regarded, financed and applied in earnest," said the Head of State.
Speaking about the bilateral relations, the President said that "the relation with China was one that has never caused trouble, has never brought about doubts either in Bucharest or Beijing all along the 58 years."
The Chinese ambassador said that "China changed profoundly over the past 58 years, the economy reported a rapid growth, the democracy strengthened and the society had a remarkable progress, while the country's international role increased."
Xu also said that China's traditional friendly relations with Romania developed over the years regardless of the domestic or international changes.
China and Romania established diplomatic relations on Oct. 5, 1949.
