Sacked Hamas-dominated government in the Gaza Strip on Thursday vowed to deal with the attacks against Hamas-run police "according to the law."
Terming the recent attacks against police officers as "a change of the game rules," the Interior Ministry of the Hamas government issued a statement to show the government's resolve in grappling with the attacks against the police.
The statement came after three police members loyal to Hamas were wounded in Gaza City midnight of the day when unknown assailants detonated a bomb near their police patrol.
"The police has opened an investigation into the incident, arrested a number of suspects and took them for interrogation," the statement said when referring to the attacks on police.
As early as on Tuesday night, three people were killed in a car explosion that rocked a base for Hamas forces.
The dead of the explosion were later identified as members of rival Fatah movement loyal to Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.
Hamas explained it as a premature bombing attack which went off accidentally before reaching its scheduled target of the Hamas base.
"These crimes are part of a series that some people loyal to Ramallah try to commit in order to shake the stability and security in the Gaza Strip," the ministry said, blaming the attacks on the Western-backed government administrates the West Bank.
President Abbas sacked Hamas-dominated government in June when the Islamic movement took over the Gaza Strip violently.
"We will not calm down until we arrest the real criminals to know who was standing behind them, planning and financing these crimes," the statement concluded.
