The senators and members of the National Assembly of Pakistan have started to cast their votes in the presidential elections in Islamabad on Saturday, the state-run PTV channel reported.

The voting process started in the National Assembly Hall, which serves as the polling station. The chief election commissioner is the presiding officer at the scene.

At the same time, the voting process also commenced in Sindh and North West Frontier Province assemblies on Saturday.

No members of opposition parties are present in the National Assembly voting hall, a local TV channel DAWN NEWS reported.

A total of 34 members of Provincial Assembly in North West Frontier Province (NWFP) have arrived to cast their votes for the presidential elections. Some lawyers are protesting against the elections outside the NWFP assembly building.

According to the DAWN NEWS report, 38 parliamentarians have taken part in the polling in Balochistan assembly.
