A U.S. soldier was killed and three others injured in a roadside bomb attack on Saturday, the U.S. military said.
The soldiers, assigned to Multi National Division-Baghdad, were killed and wounded when an improvised explosive devise (IED) exploded during a combat operation in southern Baghdad, the military said in a brief statement.
The soldiers' unit continues to conduct targeted raids and clearing operations against insurgents in the capital, the military said.
The deceased soldier's name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin, it added.
The latest death brings the number of U.S. soldiers who have been killed in Iraq to about 3,815 since the outbreak of the Iraqi war in 2003, according to media count based on Pentagon figures.
