A photo exhibition featuring China's achievements in various sectors and ordinary Chinese people's life concluded in Cairo Opera House on Tuesday after attracting more than 1,000 Egyptian visitors.
The photo show, under the title of "Chinese people's life through camera," started on Sept. 29 and displayed some 160 pieces of pictures.
Many photos focused on social and economic developments in China and the life, work, leisure and entertainment of the ordinary people. Other photos also highlighted the 5,000-year Chinese civilization and the harmony among ethnic groups in China.
Mohammad Talaat, Director of the Palace of Arts of Cairo Opera House, said it was a good opportunity for Egyptians to have a better understanding of China through the photo exhibition.
Talaat said the Chinese culture has its own specific characteristics and Egypt and China should strengthen bilateral cultural exchanges and cooperation like this.
During the exhibition, the organizer also distributed a large number of well-printed books and video CDs of the pictures.
The 11-day photo show was jointly sponsored by China Society for Human Rights Studies, the Chinese embassy in Egypt and the Egyptian Culture Ministry.
